    Our beloved Howie and Betty vanOrd are auctioning most of their lifelong collection of ox stuff, farm equipment, primitives, antiques, and other items over labor day weekend, Friday evening and Saturday. Russell, PA in northwest PA.

    Mark and I plan to be there, and the Burdett’s, too. It will be a bitter-sweet day I think.

    The listing says that Pat and Willie, the 9 year-old Devon oxen, will go across the block also.

    I’ll see you there with a tear in my eye. It will not be the most wonderful day, but I guess health issues are forcing the sale.
    I hope Pat & Willie will go to someone in our oxen family. They are a wonderful team.
    We are bracing for Irene at this moment. Just hope it isn’t as bad as they say. We are boarding up our windows, just in case.
