Participantlooking in northern tool flyer , they have a 31 inch tree felling lever. i was wondering if they have much practical use or is a guy better off just using a wedge and hammer.id assume they might be only made for small trees. any opinions?

ParticipantI have one but I don’t think I’ve used in in five years. I see it in the barn and think maybe I should throw it in the truck. Mostly for me its wedges. If I am away from a staging area they are easy to keep in a pouch and to carry the axe with the saw is easy. There are times when it would maybe be nice to have that little extra leverage but again too much to carry for me.

ParticipantDitto on what Jim said. I have a lever but never use it. Two wedges and a real peavey make much more sense for felling, I think.
