ParticipantThere are a number of old farm journals available online. These remind me of a forum of their time. They are fascinating and you can read them cover to cover or use the search function. I know that there are a number of them but here are a few to start with.
American Agriculturist 1843-1894
Genesee Farmer 1846-1864
The Cultivator 1845-1860
The Pennsylvania Farm Journal 1852-1853
New England Farmer 1836-1839

ModeratorThanks Andy,
The first one that I looked at was The Cultivator from Albany, NY 1958, fascinating. I love reading old literature and realizing how similar our times are. Page 28 speaks of houses for winter vegetable production with the mention of harvesting Kale all winter from such houses, the concept has not changed just the materials that the houses are now made of.
Thanks for these links!
