    I was turned onto the Ny forest owners association (nyfoa) by mulemandonn. I have been enjoying their educational materials, especially the podcasts for a while now http://www.nyfoa.org

    They also created the NE Timber Growing Contest. It seems to be in it’s third year with only N.Y. participants so far. There are a couple different categories, I believe they somehow correct for different site indices. More can be found here: blogs.Cornell.edu/netimbercontest

    I thought that it could be a good way to get land owners more involved with their woodlots, but most importantly, the programs goals mesh well with draft powered forestry.
