ParticipantI picked up a new mare this weekend at the sale supposed to be broke to drive but Ive yet to hook her she not quiet as gentle as the mare I’ve had a while but seems to he coming around more everyday.
Here’s where I want help no matter what horse I’m messing with(there’s 4 in the pasture) when I say whoa to any of them the new mare stops instantly I’m satisfied with the way my other mare stops but how do I get her to whoa like the new mareKenneth

ParticipantThis is what i was told to do once they know what woa means. When I ground drive I say woa take 3 steps then I stop and tighten the lines until she stands quietly then I release pressure and expect her to stand until I give a comand. I don’t know if any of this helps but it works for me. The horse I have been training is getting lighter in the lines. Good luck Eli
