ParticipantWe have a Golden Retriever that won’t be two yrs old until August. Ever since she was a small puppy she has been dragging large sticks home. We live next to a large creek and she is always bringing home dead fall or driftwood. These aren’t twigs either some of them are 3-4 inches in diameter and 8 or 10 feet long. The bank that leads down to the creek is steep and she grips them in her teeth cranking her head sideways and lunges like a good logging horse on a heavy load and brings them up on the porch for us to trip over. If she keeps it up I just might put in a wooodstove. When she was only three months old I was raking leaves on the front yard and she ran off with my leaf rake. I guess maybe she is good for something after all!
