ParticipantThe weather was great today so it was time to think spring and plow up the garden. One of the great things about this farm is I could often plow by the first week of march. The soil is nice and loose and the sunny day really helped to make a great day. I am hoping to get the team out and work on a different patch of ground in the morning, as the first thing that we plowed up was our garden from last year and we did that mainly with the tractor and the tiller.
I am hoping that the side hill rollover plow that I have will work ok with the haflingers. On a note to those that are attempting to make syrup, I think that in order to have a good season I would have to be tapping the middle of January when the temps start to rise.
All in all it was a great day here on the farm.
