ParticipantI thought I’d post this info from another site noting that Maurice Telleen original publisher of the Draft Horse Journal and the book The Draft Horse Primer has passed away. Obituary link below. He was one of the key players in helping to keep the draft horse “alive” through some of the leaner years in the 20th century. Thanks for all you’ve done Maurice.

ParticipantThe Draft Horse Primer is the first draft animal book I ever got…convinced me I was thinking right about this. Thank you, Maury, for keeping the faith on these animals. RIP.

ParticipantThank you Near Horse for the news of Maurice Telleen of the DHJ. He must have passed on with clean harness in the barn. I loved his articles of 25, 50, and 75 years ago. A pretty consolidated and well written history of the past …. horses and other news. So thanks, it is a magazine you just can’t throw out.
