Donn Hewes
KeymasterA couple weeks ago the lost tail was a huge mystery. Woke one morning to find Connie, my Suffolk mare’s tail went from six inch of the floor to about 30″ off the floor. Where did it all go? Turns out the young mule is a little bored and his mother might be weening him a little. He just got gelded too. I don’t know if he just chews them off or does he eat it too? I don’t see any of the tails lying in the barn. He has now shortened most every tail in the herd.
Not sure if it is worth worrying about or doing anything about.

Participantthats pretty odd, I know my parents had a few cows loose their tails in when they were out grazing and one would lay down and another would be standing next to them and step on their tail and when they would go to get up it would get ripped off. never heard of another animal chewing it off though!
