KeymasterHello, I’m about a month into learning to work with horses at the Northland Sheep Dairy. A friend and I are sharing the apprenticeship here on the farm. We’re learning to drive from Donn, and will be working with the sheep, helping with lambing, milking and moving. We’re also starting a vegetable enterprise on the property, using the horses as our power source. We’ll be at a local market and we’ll have a small CSA.
I’m coming from a year of vegetable experience at the Dickinson College Farm in Pennsylvania and a couple of years of farm education experience in Massachusettes.
I’m really excited to be starting the adventure of working with horses and also to be a part of the community here on dap.

ParticipantHello Daniel, welcome to the group. Be sure to spend time with the Mules at Donn’s. You can learn a lot from a mule.

ParticipantWelcome Daniel! My family was out to visit Northland this winter and Donn and Maryrose were wonderful hosts. We are down the road a bit in Oneonta.
