ParticipantI have been getting my team of 5yr old Devons into shape, and just got some weight behind them (400lbs) on a stoneboat. I have been working with them every day for the last 2 months and I know they can pull it. They are excited to get hitched to the stoneboat and relaxed with no load on it. The nigh ox seems to be uncomfortable with the load on when going up hill and is not holding his head steady. I do not think the yoke fits him well but I can not seem to adjust it to a comfortable position. Is there anyone in my area of VT who would be willing to come here to my farm and troubleshoot the problem with me?
I live on the Danville, Peacham line in the Northeast kingdom, VT
Thanks

ParticipantMichael,
I live in Craftsbury and head out your way sometimes. I can’t make any promisses that I’ll be able to fix your problem but I would be willing to take a look at it with you. Feel free to email me at pferrari@sterlingcollege.edu if you would like.
