ParticipantMy son in 6th grade was given the assignment to write a poem about you. Each line had to start with I and be followed by a verb. The poetry isn’t anything to write home about but the topic made me smile.
A Boy Driving Horses
Denton Moulton age 11
I am a boy who loves driving horses
I wonder if I will ever be famous
I hear the fans yelling
I see myself driving
I want a hitch of horsesI am a boy who loves driving horses
I pretend to drive them
I feel the wagon under me
I touch my future horse
I worry it won’t happen
I cry if it doesn’t happenI am a boy who loves horses
I understand it might not happen
I say it will happen
I dream I will have a big ranch
I try to raise money
I hope to drive a hitch in a rodeo
