This place, Vermont Family Forests, has an exciting model for forest management, including some ambitious principles, educational aspects, and a wood certification program, all with a non-profit structure. I think that we could emulate a model like this for the purposes of promoting sustainable forestry with animals, as well. The wood certification is a whole different issue, but I like the idea of having small-scale certification that we can trace back to loggers, landowners and foresters easily. Either way, take a look at their website, I think its neat.
