ParticipantI hear yah…they want the same price, here, but I found one for $30 at a pawn/junk store…might want to scope out that type of store…and I saw (I believe it was) in Northern Tools that they have them for around $45 new…

ParticipantThat looks really good! Question: does it take all 3 to pull that size of disc if it was on unfrozen ground? {I’m needing to find a small disc & am wondering what it takes to pull one the size you’ve got pictured}.

In that case, I’ve got 10 compost piles that need turning…

ParticipantAt $6600 (w/ shipping to my area), even with the original gas engine, that Northern Tool item seems too much for just turning compost… I wonder about somehow modifying one of those old hay hooks/spears – drop, grab & then moving it on it’s track & dropping? Way beyond my abilities to engineer, but just a thought I’ve had for a while…

20 boxes of salad greens, 333 quart of strawberries, 666 pound of tomatoes or any combination there of will provide enough funds for the basic set up and $600 worth of implements.
Do you realize she did this all in her head in less than a minute? :p

ParticipantSounds interesting…if you get photos posted, I’m sure wanting to see them…

ParticipantAny photos to compare the two? I’d like to learn more about them…

ParticipantI’d fear using the cattle panels…might get a hoof caught in them, with no one around to help…although my donkeys (as most seem to be) are more likely to not panic and just start braying for help…

ParticipantThanks, Ed. I’ll have to budget for that, since it’s a treat for myself, and not a neccesity – I will be in touch. 😮

ParticipantUm, that’s called stalking…
yay! I’ve got my first-ever stalker!
{I was hoping for more of a female type, but what-the-hey}Okay, okay, already…I cleaned it out.

ParticipantI sent a paper copy of the 3-wheel design in Lynn Miller’s book to a guy a month or so ago, and he emailed me a copy of it back in case I ever wanted to email it to anyone…so if you want it, let me know.

ParticipantMy donkeys would happily stand there for 6 hours…there’s lots of good things to eat, there! :p

ParticipantI remember another discussion on here about the FSA – if I recall, there was a lot of mention about they’ll sure help you, but want to micro-manage or look over your shoulder on your management decisions…I think someone had said they really are up on you to explain the “whys” of everything you do. I might not have it totally correct, though…

ParticipantMy mentor does “only” pleasure-driving…most of it readily transfer over to my training me donkeys to work. So now your fun begins!

ParticipantThis topic reminds me of the old saying:
“It’s not the size of the dog in the fight; it’s the size of the fight in the dog, that counts.”- AuthorPosts
