This video shows my Pioneer snow plow doing my driveway behind a fore cart. This is the first time I used it and it took a pass or so for both Jenny and I to get the knack but now the plow works great in this snow which is about 3-4″ of light fluffy snow. It could handle more and heavier stuff with out a problem I think. Not a problem for Jenny to pull it up hill or down. It has a float position and you can lift and lock it at any height. Nice plow.

Looks like fun. Certainly more economical and easier on your ears than a tractor! How much does the Pioneer plow set a person back? Thanks for sharing that video.

Is your numer 9 a regular gear or high gear? Does it have a five or six foot cutbar?

Maybe I don’t know what I am talking about, but to me Oat hay is when you mow green oats with the grain heads intact. On the other hand oat straw is when the oat stalks are processed after the oats have ripened and were combined for the grain, so the straw has little or no grain heads in it.

So to me I would be leary of feeding much oat hay because of possible foundering. I know some people claim a mule won’t founder, but the vets don’t agree with that.

My best guess is that oat staw has low nutritional value, but I imagine that they could survive on it if needed.

I just limit the amount of hay my mules get as they will eat until they are fatter than hogs otherwise! My opinion of mules is that they are a little bit like goats they can thrive on weeds!

There are some sulkies setup with out a tongue – in fact some guys out here like them better w/o a tongue they say they’re not as “tippy”. Does there appear to be a rod linking the front furrow wheel to the rear furrow wheel? That is usually a sign that it used a tongue.

As Marshall said, a picture would really help.

    Got some pics uploaded.

Even in Wyoming a 7 foot would make a lot of side draft I would think.
