ParticipantSounds like you had a good trip. Glad to hear everything went well. I would love to go to the Pioneer shop and see what they are working on.
Good thing I was not with you, I would have brought home more horses then I needed.

ParticipantJean,
I move we go ahead with the rates and registration as posted. Let’s work on the rates for the next workshop BOD meeting. The sooner we get this out the better. This is a busy time of year for people so we need to get the word out before the calender fills up.
Are we going to reimburse Bradley for the food at this event? I will contact him today and see if he needs help with that.
I plan to bring my single horse down and pull some light wood to the mill or do whatever I can with him. I just need to find a trailer. I am regreting selling mine now 🙁
Jen,
Can we edit the title of this thread to read “Logging Workshop at the Farm School” ?

Ed, I think I need to add David and any other non BOD members you want to receive notification of messages here. This might be why you are not getting any responses. Who besides David, needs to be added? Jennifer.
Jen,
How about Bradley Teeter? Can we add him?

John – must be spreadin’ in the snow. We’re in that mode now and I assume you are too.
Karl – where are you getting 50T of wood ash?
Geoff,
Where do you get the wood ash from? How much is the application rate or do you mix it with the manure?

ParticipantJean,
I see no reason why it is not a go. There has been no discussion to indicate there is a reason to not move ahead. I will help with the menu and work that out with Brad if he needs the kitchen help. I do not know why there is no one else from the events board giving thier thoughts.
I think the event promo looks great.

ParticipantI will be out of town until Monday of next week, so I could not attend a conference call this week. We need to hear from the Executive Board as to the insurance issues and how we proceed with future events.
Have a good week,

ParticipantCarl will be attending and bringing horses to work in the woods. He will be bringing other materials to present in the evening. His response is below.
Ed, Dec. 10-11 looks good. I’ll be there with a team and bobsled……
I will also have a multi-media presentation about our cooperative
logging operation, including a few short videos, Power-Point slide
show, and discussion of forestry and economics, if there will be any
evening or other inside time for such….Carl
I think a few more teams would be helpfull. I guess we can wait and see what kind of response we get from the membership.

ParticipantI spoke with Bradley this afternoon and have e-mailed him the Farm School Winter Logging registartion form so he can look at it. He will respond to Jean if there are any concerns.
He will be checking with his School Administrator to see what kind of insurance they have and if it would cover us for this event. He was confident that they have the right coverage for visitors, but wanted to check to make sure.
He said he had talked to Mark Bouche, who used to work at Sanborn Mills in NH, and he thought Mark could build a wooden scoot from scratch as one of the sessions.
I will e-mail Carl Russell to confirm his attendance and see if he would be interested in some giving instruction if the group would like to hear or learn about different hitches, methods, ETC.
Brad indicated that they would like to run the saw mill and cut lumber that is being skidded to the landing.
I will be gone until Monday of next week on vacation. If you need to get in touch with me my Cell is 603-340-4035

ParticipantI would prefer to have a conference call as I find this format difficult to follow. I am available Monday evening or any evening next week to help keep this
rolling along. Anyone with questions or concerns can present them to the events committee and then we may assign someone to find
the answer. Is anyone else on the events committee able to meet this week? Our agenda as i see it are insurance, attendance fees and food, cooking issues? Also who will be there with teams to provide some instruction.Ed

ParticipantI sent the email to the link on the DAP website under the Board of directors link.
mailto:draftanimalpower@gmail.com
Maybe this link is not working. The info in the post above is basically what I e mailed Jean about.
What do you all think? Should we see if there is enough intrest before putting it in the newsletter?
Bradley also expressed intrest in helping on the events committee.

ParticipantI spoke with Bradley on Monday and is very interested in hosting this workshop at his farm school in Athol Mass, in the second week of December. He has a commercial Kitchen and room for 30-40 people to stay over night if they wish. He indicated that Carl Russell would like to attend and is interested in conducting a training session. We discussed the registration and wondered if we could set it up the same way as the Bailey Farm annual meeting. I think we would need a preregistration to account for the proper amount of food and over night stays so Bradly could make arraignments with possible cooking staff. I emailed this information to Jean on Monday and I have not heard back from her. I think it is important to plan for this now to see if there is enough interest. Let me know your thoughts.

ParticipantI am right aren’t I?
It was Brad that was going to sponsor this event? I will e-mail him if he is the one to get in touch with.

ParticipantI have not rabbit hunted in 20 years. I really enjoyed it growing up as a kid. Hope you have good luck this year.

ParticipantErika, have we got any feedback on the annual meeting article we have been working on? Wondering if Jay has any comments.
