Memberthanks for the answer; is there possibly a picture? how would the hook stay in place when there is no forewards movement? how much load can be pulled mith these hames? the metal part seems to be only attached with 2 bolts and no counter surface …
CharlyBonifaz
Membernot only easier in curves, should also provide more “up” when pulling a heavy load through deep soil

Memberit was a three-dimensional capable harness with a loose leather-connection at its top and as mentioned very high traces; the top would also have been constructed wrong for equines: open and higher to the rear instead of front as is neccessary for horses
may be the pictures can help?Attachments:

Memberit’s not a constant group, there are hardcore members that have known each other for longer than that; but the group has been growing and been realising, that only combined, international efforts can revive draft cattle in Western Europe
our German group has always leered across the borders trying to regain as much knowledge as there still is left
I figured it might be interesting to see how implements are continuously improved/adapted when one needs to work with them every day …June 18, 2014 at 2:18 am in reply to: 9. Int. Ox Drovers' Meeting at the Écomusée d'Alsace 29.05.2014 – 01.06.2014 #83636CharlyBonifaz

MemberOur horses will (in an everyday situation) only be walked away from a hitch if all together walk away; meaning the first one has to wait untill the last one is ready to go. I wonder if that might easen a situation like that

Memberthanks for the help; yes, I’ve been thinking of redoing one of the big snow shovels to be used like a scraper for the snow; and I enjoy the picture of the Miskin scraper, never seen anything like it … I think John of Hopewell Farm is onto what I have in mind … may be someone else comes up with the right link
