DAPNet Log Arch Build
February 8, 9, & 10th, 2019
A three day get together to build and test log arch designs. Participants that register in advance will have the opportunity to build a log arch for themselves with help from the whole group. On Sunday, we will measure the draft of various arches.
Reber Rock Farm in Essex NY and area workshops!
Essex Farm Institute is a co-sponsor and helping with the shop costs to provide this great opportunity.
We are looking to build 4-6 arches with a team of 15 to 20 professional and homestead loggers with horses or oxen.
Price of admission: All participants: $20 per day. Come for one day or all three! This will include lunch and help to provide a heated shop space. Everyone is encouraged to come to help build these arches! Learn skills and share ideas.
Participants interested in building and taking home an arch must pre-register by Jan 1st, 2019 and register for all three days. $150 to pre-register to build an arch. This group is limited to 6 arches. They will be responsible for paying for all steel, wheels, hubs etc, before taking home an arch! $150 is a down payment – the balance due will be determined from steel and parts used.

If you want to build an arch, please contact Donn for options, design discussions, and more cost info.
We will be bringing supplies and parts based on the registration. Friday and Saturday will be busy days of welding and fabrication. You do not need these skills to build an arch as other participants are there to help. On Sunday with the help of the Reber Rock horses and a good log, as well as the technology and skill of Tim Harrigan from Michigan, we will measure the draft of various arches. Other arches are welcome as we will measure as many as we can. Will be fun!
